Kevin,So my GM just drove the HQ 95 incher that we were talking about. He was very impressed with the bike. He absolutely loved the way it pulled from 2500 and up! He also said to me that he was hard on it and it never failed to make power and run GREAT!
The customer also has these humongous fairing lowers on the crash bar and did say that the motor was pretty quiet. Its actually pretty funny, he kept saying about how much of a rocket the thing was!! Anyway thought you would like to know.

Goodmorning Kevin!
After building and tuning your 113, I got a chance to ride that bike again and once again was absolutely amazed with how well the engine worked. I mean it worked everywhere from 1500 to 5500. I have never accelerated that hard on a bagger with the rear tire stepped out and spinning!
Needless to say the customer was quite happy with that. All that was left with that tune was to take some fuel out just of idle in the low throttle positions to get rid of a stumble. Other than that it was f@#^ing cool!!!!!
We also had the chance of putting a set of 500's in an 08 FLTR with Rinehart trueduals. I ended up with 98 TQ and almost all of that down low. Another happy customer! Anyway just wanted to say hi and to let you know how things are going.
Take care bro.

Thanks Kevin,
I appreciate the knowledge checks and the time you take to answer what are probably a lot of inane questions. I have volumes of reference material, service manuals,. etc, but the experience you bring to the table helps immensely to fill in the blanks. In my long, storied lifetime I've yet to find a substitute for experience.

The dealer, Skagit H_D in Mt Vernon Wa. was very impressed with the quality and power made for the 98T kit I bought form you.
While I couldn't get a direct response to the question - "better than a 95 SE kit?" They all commented how very smooth the power band was, excellent power at the bottom end and the engine pulled like it was much larger. They also suggested I had better plan to hang on.
Thanks for the pleasant experience. I believe you have a supporter here in Everett, WA.

Hey Kevin
Adjusted the pushrods one last time. No valvetrain noise at all. Sounds incredibly awesome. This MF is fast. Damn, 75 mph in 3 rd and at 5000 rpm in 4 th gear, I hit 100 mph. I don't think I have enough speedometer to test 5 th gear. The rpm is there now and never quits. Crazy, just unbelievable.
Can't thank you enough, for the help and support. Wouldn't want your babysitting job, but awful glad you have it. My boys are already casing a few banks, to pay for their's. Bought 500 dollars of twin cams tools, so I guess I have a lot of headquarters work in my future.
Ride hard my friend.
Tom
Doug and Joanne,
Thank you for spending the time on the phone with me, and helping me with my build. I won't regret throwing away the Screamin Eagle parts. My buddy had his heads done at D****'s and the mechanics just looked at them and the look in there eyes was "what's so special".
When I brought my Head Quarters heads into the shop, the same (all four) mechanics were drooling over the work done. They couldn't wait to get started. Needless to say the bike absolutely rocks. Unfortunately winter is now setting in and I have to wait until spring to put some miles on it.
Once again, thanks.

Hey Guys,
I'm a VERY happy HQ 113 owner here. 2000 Ultra, White Brose 2-1 E pipe, stock CV carb w/HQ jet kit and HQ tuneable ignition. Prior to this the bike (Blue) was a HQ 95" at 10:8:1 comp.(Helliishly fast....I thought)
My riding style, 1 up 80% of the time, highway and some backroads on quiet days. It's not uncommon for me to get up and ride 80 km. on a Sunday morning just for a coffee or to ride a couple of hours to visit friends and be back that same day. Rarely ride with others as I cruise at 2800-3200 rpm (77-82 mph) and don't like waiting for others. Bought my first HD in 1974 an iron head Sportster.
O'k. Blue, right now, is the finest riding bike I've ever been on.
First. I was quite apprehensive about this whole build thing as I had to completely dissamble my engine, have the cases bored to fit and reassemble. Plus I was very nervous of the ignition, bigger engine have to retune, not a decent tuner for 1200 km. Doug advised not to change anything, assemble and start. I did and it did. Purred like a cat.
Blue now is the most well behaved bike I've ever owned. Totally predictable, HD should send 'em from the factory like this. The best way to describe this build is everything seems to be *effortless*. I've tried to shift into 7th more than a couple of times now, just because the engine feels like it wants more. Wonderful Sunday cruising...Peggy's Cove for coffee every Sunday now.
Now, for the *what happens when you go for wide fu**en open*. Hold on! 3rd gear idling up to 2400 rpm and whack it, slide ride back off the seat. It snaps even way down there. 2nd gear idling up to 2200, whack it, back tire tries to pass the front tire speed shift to 3rd that back tire is still trying to get out in front. 1st gear idle up to 2000 rpm and whack it, WOW!! front end starts to come up, back tire is right beside the front, hit second front end still coming up, back tire burning up....
IMHO, this is the ultimate dresser engine. No ping in 6th gear with 2600 rpm roll on passing up a hill, 40-45 mpg at highway speed and so far, not one backfire or decel pop. All on 91 octane gas....and very few, if any, of those lighter bikes will get by you.
I plan on doing at least one Atlantic coast to Pacific coast run on a HD before I die and it will be on a HQ 113".
Kind Rgds,
Terry C.
Dear Doug,
I just finished an '07 Streetglide 103" HQ build. CP Pistons(10:1), HQ 575's, HQ Heads, and PC3 with advanced map. Just as nice going together as all the 95's I have done. This Bike runs incredibly strong with major TQ. Customer(who also owns an HQ tricked out Dyna) is tickled as well. We now have over 1200kms on it in the past week......very, very impressive. Shades of Dougs 113 for pull. I guess I will be strokin' my RG soon to keep up??? Another highly recommended build from the HQ shop of tricks! Keep up the good work Doug and gang!!!!

Dear Mr. Coffey;
About two months ago, I decided to have the heads on my 1200 Sportster modified. I took them to my dealer, Earl Small’ Harley-Davidson, in Smyrna, Georgia. I had intended to buy a set of Branch heads, however, the builder recommended that I send my heads to your company. I decided that I would call Head Quarters and find out what your company would suggest.
When I called Head Quarters, I had a very pleasant conversation with a gentleman who asked very specific questions about what modifications the bike already has as well as how I intended to ride the bike. I was asked to include these specs in a letter to be enclosed with the heads on shipment. Your stage 3 modification was agreed on and the heads shipped.
When my heads arrived back at Earl Small’s, Randy had me come over to get a look at them. The workmanship was beautiful and the bike runs great. I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the personalized service. I feel as though these heads were perfectly matched for my motorcycle.
If anybody wants to hear from a satisfied customer, have them call me.

Dear Doug & Joanne
When an amateur (read non-mechanic) tries to acquaint himself with power theories and facts in order to increase performance in his motorcycle, sometimes he’s met with a degree of impudence and rudeness that boggles the mind. This has never been the case with my limited experience with you all. I really appreciate the courteous, expeditious manner in which you have helped me with advice and tips and shipped your products that I have ordered. You seem to run your business like I think a business should be run.
Thanks for all the help,
Tom Montgomery
Hey Doug and Joanne
I'm proud to say I just completed a build from HQ with outstanding results. From the components below and with a great deal of SERT tuning, i've acheived an average of 115 hp/117 torque.
I see quite a few messages come thru this board in regards to expectations and results from HQ products. No offense intended to those posting the questions, but if I may, I'd like to offer my perspective as a well educated customer.
I've been designing and building engines for years and I have to say, HQ heads have some of the best porting work I've ever seen. The cam grinds are dead on to the physics and properties of an HD engine, and I'm sure everyone that orders gets the same quality and consistancy. To read that some get 90 hp and others get 110hp from the same build isnt due to unfounded promises from HQ or poor products. If you aren't getting very close to or over the hp/tq numbers estimated for your build by HQ, then the problem is with the person tuning your bike.
Quite honestly, I performed a dyno run before I started tuning mine and got 80hp/85tq. I spent a few hours re-designing the map, ran the dyno again and got 90hp/100tq. After another day of tuning, 107hp/110. And then another afternoon and got to the 115hp/117tq average with approx 45 mpg, zero pinging, and cool head temps....ANDI HAVEN'T EXCEEDED THE 5500 RPM REDLINE YET! (45mpg because im on the rich side to keep the heads a bit cooler and to produce maximum torque - 13.5(6):1 A/F)
All that being said, if your tuner has your bike for 2-3 hours and hands it back to you, you aren't getting value for your dollar...to properly tune and ensure maximum output, takes HOURS and HOURS (I have about 10 hours in mine and I'm still not finished); pushing the envelope and adjusting in all directions to get peak perf. Educate yourselves and please, don't assume that just because the guy is running your dyno, that he really understands how his adjustments affect your engine. Ask questions and demand the outcome. No canned maps folks..if you pay for a "custom dyno tune", you should get one.
Just food for thought from a very satisfied customer.
Kevin
Now that I have my engine back together and tuned, I wanted to take a minute to make sure you guys know how much I appreciate your recommendations, support, and quality of service. Having called and asked Doug numerous questions, on multiple occasions I really appreciate your patience, genuine concern for your clients, and superior technical expertise. You were very patient with me and I really appreciate that!
I had a really good feeling about your character and very high expectations regarding the quality of you work after our initial conversation. Now that I have the build you recommended installed and tuned all I can say is “WOW”! I am MORE THAN SATISFIED!
The results speak for themselves! 113 HP and 111 ft/lbs of torque from a 98” Twin Cam is incredible! My RoadGlide now pulls like a SuperGlide. It pulls from any RPM and NEVER stops pulling! It is AWESOME! The engine runs smooth, the valve train is quiet, and it starts EASY. What more could I have asked for?
Thanks so much!

Well guys I can report on our recent trip. We were 2 up with gear, read, heavy/loaded. A couple notes, Before I left we downloaded the canned 203 map and after about 500 miles of breakin, checked color of plugs nice golden brown, right where you want. No haven't done dyno yet, but can tell you, there is no hesitation.
We ran from Tucson,Az.in the hi 90's to Durango, Co. and through the passes in rain/hail and freezing weather 8-10000 ft.. No problems. When it came to passing, it just goes!! I was riding with another Heritage Classic '03 and 95 ci. all the same as mine, only difference is he is running 204 cams. If I didn't let up off the throttle I would have run him over when we were passing. I noticed he would downshift to 4th to begin passing, I just left it in 5th. NICE !! Doug, when I spoke to you, you told me this cam would put a smile on my face--YEP sure does!! Oh, heads are stock.
Bruce
I emailed you a while back about my 95" build and told you that I'd send you the info once I had it dyno'd. Well, It's at the tuner's now and he called and told me he got it to 107hp/114tq then my rear tire grenaded!! Hopefully the new tire will be in tommorrow and he can finish tuning the 95".He said we're looking at 110-111hp/118-119tq when he's done.
I'm pretty damn impressed with your heads and cams. I will send you a copy of the dyno sheet when I get it. These numbers are with a stock throttle body also!! Below is the parts I used in the build allthough I am thinking of switching to a 0033G cam, a H-P Inc. 51mm throttle body and a set of 10.5-1 pistons. I want more torque. About 125 ft lbs. What do you think?
Thanks

Just a note to thank you for your excellent service and products. I also appreciate Doug taking the time to talk with me regarding various performance products and offering advice. The bike fired on the first rotation and runs like a wild bull.
Thanx Again,
